Compilation List of non-AU Sledge/Snafu fic

Ahem.
I think many Sledge/Snafu fans may agree that there is not enough fic for us, and by comparison to some of the giant fandoms out there, we are not just being whiny. We are a deprived lot. My response? Gather all the Sledge/Snafu that I can all around myself, like a pillow fort (a pillow fox hole?), and breathe it in, revel in it, make it seem like the whole world. There - oh yeah, that feels better. I thought I’d share this compilation since it puts me in a contented place.

Stories have been written by about 40 authors (plus anons)
There are like 10 ‘Verses or multi-chapter stories
There are approximately 77 standalone stories (oneshots, drabbles, meme fills, etc.)
This compilation list is only canon or canon-esque fic. I do NOT include blatant AU fic. If your horizons are broader than mine and you like AU, then, well, lucky you! The Sledge/Snafu outlook is even better than my list would convey. Unfortunately, it’s just not my thing. What is included here is fic from the Pacific world - stories revolving around events portrayed in the show, but can include re-writing the plot in terms of who lives, who dies, who follows whom off the train, who finds whom after the war, etc. To me, AU is when the characters get lifted into another place and/or time - never experience the events in the show even partially. I don’t know if that’s an exact match to everyone else’s idea of AU vs. canon, but it’s how I draw the lines.
As I said, this is a compilation list. I didn’t leave out any Sledge/Snafu fic I know of. I looked on LJ, AO3, fanfiction.net, chased down to the 20th page of hits of Google searches, included anonymous fills in kink memes, and I even included some that are more bromance or only imply a side story of Sledge/Snafu amidst a different plot. I scraped the internet as best I could. I’m like a cokehead willing to snort all the crumbs between the couch cushions cause there might be some good stuff down there.
I intend to edit this and keep it relatively current, which shouldn’t be hard since we are at a trickle nowadays. Here’s hoping. Please tell me if I missed anything, especially like maybe a massive location where fans hang out and post stuff that I just don’t know about. Because that would be just like me, and because it would make me so happy.
In putting this together, I must say I found that there are at least two reasons to feel a little less whiny. 1. Certainly within the Pacific fandom, Sledge/Snafu dominates, so at least we have that (check the tag cloud on the-pacific.livejournal.com). 2. Very importantly, we have some fine works that can be read over and over and over. At least, I can read many of these over and over. And that’s why I made this compilation list. Makes it easier.
While this is primarily a compilation list, it’s also a rec list. I comment and I give meaningless awards. This is to entertain myself and to remind myself what I love and why. If anyone wants to chime in on favorites or other points, please do.
A silly side point: Of the many worthy angles from which to view and flail at the epic love/lust that is Sledge/Snafu, my favorite angle is looking down at them in a foxhole. Many stories here indulge that and I thank all that is holy for it and try to remember to point that out each time a story goes there.
Ratings provided by the authors are copied along with each story. Sometimes when no rating is provided, I take a stab at it as I know that might matter. I hope my comments for each work are not annoying spoilers or just plain annoying. No offense intended. Authors, please get in touch with me if I violated some way you like your work to be represented and I’ll happily edit. Also, please let me know if there are broken links or anything I can fix.
This list is organized alphabetically by author because that’s where the props belong.
