I love how I can bring in a couple of blades of ordinary grass and my cats will think I've just brought them the bestest treat ever.

Returned to the board for the first time in weeks today.

I am so confused.

I usually inspect my plants twice a day (to see if they need watering or if they've been dug up by squirrels/chipmunks hiding peanuts), and last week I discovered my viburnum (which has finally bloomed - yay!) has aphids. I bought one more plant for my shade corner tonight, as well as a cute wooden container for three more salvia plants. I'm almost finished my gardens. In the front garden I just need to buy a few more plants, and then apply a mulch. I've been gradually filling in the skunk hole - there's been no sign of digging in a week now. If it stays like that for another week I'll block it off with the rocks again ( Read more... )

No new photos today. I wanted to go out on a new trail this morning, but it was cold and gray and windy today, reaching only about 10 C this afternoon. I didn't bother planting my seedlings this weekend. It's supposed to go down to 3 C overnight.

On the plus side, I did get some writing done today and worked on my website.

I would enter this photo into the CWF photo contest if this species of columbine (Aquilegia flabellata) were native to Canada. The rain finally stopped so I took terraprime's advice and took some pictures of the columbine in my front garden with the raindrops still on it.
