Tonight I passed something that really surprised me:  a bucher shop-turned bar.  In spain, they hang these huge cow legs from strings right in the middle of the store.  Well, the bar had these cow legs everywhere, and sausages (salchichas and chorizos) everywhere.  And people were just drinking and being merry!  I barely can stomach passing those, ( Read more... )

I'm sitting in my bed listening to The Weakerthans. I am in Spain now. I live in Alcala de Henares, a suburb of Madrid, and I´m going to school here until the end of December! I miss my friends and home! Write me on here if you can...

So as time has been running out as a DC resident, I've been trying to catch up on doing things I've been meaning to do.  A rundown of the past week or so:

-Saw Mysterious Skin at the local indie cinema, E Street Cinema.  Cried a lot.

-Visited the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, seeing the Hope Diamond and other gems.  And big dinasours.

I saw the prettiest sidewalk today.

The sun was beating down, and it glittered like the night sky.  I loved it...it was like Moulin Rouge.  After a day of being yelled at by my coworker and barraged by ridiculous assignments, it was a welcome image that has stuck with me all day!
