I found out about this story from moxieminx and thoguht that it was something that I should comment on. I will lj-cut the article in case anyone wants to read it, but the article is a fluff article, so don't expect to read anythign profound.

NO it isn't. Didn't you read anything that I wrote? It will lead to gays being more and more ostracized and segregated in our soceity. And all paid by taxpayer dollars too. Then before you know it, there will be hate crimes done at this school b/c its "the gay school". In the 1950's there were separate schools for black kids and that was called SEGREGATION.

there was already an all gay high school and people got catty ands hit and the last year it was open there was around 7 kids, they only had 50 at most and they all interdate and get pissed off and shit.

It wasn't a public school and Id ont think it was accredited, like the kids were in high school but only got ged's and stuff

if gay isn't protected in discrimination laws (*which I dont know about NY state, but I know it's not in FL or the US constitution) they could have a school for it. like public magnets

Well most of the gay activists, when they talk about discrimination, claim that they are discriminated just as bad as black people during segregation and other minorities. I'm not gonna take a position on that assertion, but there should not be special public schools for anyone based on race, sexual orientation, etc. It will only lead to more discrimination. Then we will have hate crimes done toward that school since its "the gay school".

AS for the stereotypical comment about performaing arts schools, not all people into performing arts are gay. There are straight people into that too... Its like saying all athletes are dumb, alpha-males, which would be a bad stereotype too. There are a lot of smart athletes and ::gasps:: gay athletes too...
