Jesus Christ on a Pogo Stick. It's a MOVIE. An ESCAPE FROM REALITY. Get the fuck over it and quit reading shit into it.
This is just as bad as some of the, shall we say, 'fluffier' girls on my f-list bashing KungFu Panda as "a hateful, fat bashing, totally insensitive" movie because the panda is fat and can only keep his attention on something if he's given food.
lol...that is funny. Ok, I'm fat, but I didn't really get offended by Wall-E. I think the people that should really be offended per se are stupid people, but they'd be too stupid to get that they're being made fun of, right? This guy has a couple of points: I could see how it might be slightly offensive to fat people to have them directly linked to future ecological disaster and stupidity, sure. But by the same token, it feels like he's almost making excuses and petting the fatties on their heads by saying, "Well, it's not your fault...you just have shitty genes." Insomuch as that's true to a point, there's also a point where you should really get off your ass and do something about it. You can't tell me that genes alone make people so dump truck ass fat that they need walls cut out of their houses in order to go the hospital or get more donuts. That's fucking bullshit. Americans probably would be way better served if we had to walk everywhere and didn't just have shit handed to us at a drive-thru or a Wal-Mart. I think that

No doubt. I mean, yeah, I'm gonna be chunky unless I starve myself. (Which ain't happening.) But is all my fat due to my genes? No way. It's because I ate like crap all through middle and high school and beyond. It's just been the past few years I've even tried to eat anything remotely good for me. Totally my fault I'm a fat ass in that respect. If I walked more and ate less fast food style crap, I'd loose weight.
Though if I ever need my wall cut away to get me out of my house... KILL ME!

It is unique in being one of the few kids films out there that provides a dysutopian view of the future. It is a bit satirical, and I happen to like that. Of course, with any satire, there are going to be people who are turned off when they don't agree with the message

Now, I will add that I do happen to believe that there is a slight satirical element to the obesity angle of the story, but I don't think it is directly related to the pollution satire. The obesity angle draws certain parallels with modern society in that an increase in sedentary lifestyles are causing an in increase in obesity today.
In any case, I happen to really like this film because it does try to have a message to it, but goes about it in a very subtle manner. It's a little bit like a kid friendly version of Idiocracy or Brave New World. For that very reason I mark it among my most favorite films.
