The Washington Post has an article on the new "Dharma Index". While this is in and of itself intriguing.... it is also interesting that there's already one based on Islamic law. But I was most drawn to the statement that there are no plans to create a Christian index ( Read more... ) -

writing scores
My score on the analytical writing test was exactly what I would have guessed if I had to bet money on it -- 4.5 out of 6. I was hoping for a 5, but having not really prepared, and having been so happy just to finish with a coherent feeling.... I got what I would have expected. self-critique of my essay
Looking over the criteria, I can't imagine my essay scoring less than a 4 on a 6 point scale. The strongest case I see for giving me a 3 is "weak(ness) in the use of relevant reasons or examples". Since I have paragraphs with distinct ideas, I don't think I fit "poorly organized". And I think my reasoning is relevant, even though readers might ( Read more... ) -

I'm wrote this following essay while practicing for the GRE General test. I was surprised to find out there's an essay component. Yikes! It took me a little too long to write - a bit more than 90 minutes, when there's only 45 minutes alotted. But I am feeling quite pleased with myself!
