My livejournal avatar suddenly changed from McGurk staring out of a sedative haze to the glowing "eye" of HAL 9000. I'm pretty sure I didn't change it in a fugue, so I reset my password and my avatar.

I've contended for a while that reading Achewood is like getting high, but I had a hard time figuring out why. Yesterday at about 4:30 I got stuck on the third floor in the elevator at 1 Park Dr in RTP for almost 40 minutes. The security guard was able to get me out by prying on the door with a screwdriver and it must have tripped something since I went down to the second floor and was released. So why aren't there any Bob Falfa Star Wars video or fan riffs? It seems so easy to do something lame like put a wookie and a guy with a white shirt and leather vest into a '55 Chevy and roll it off an embankment. In years past, if one didn't know how to proceed with a niggling detail in a software installation, one posted a question on Usenet (we'll miss you) or a support mailing list.
