Breaking rocks (work) is hard today.  I'm very productive in short spurts ... interrupted by long spurts of spacing out.

This makes me sad.  Opening a jazz/world music venue is a gentrification issue?  Really?  Personally, I am looking forward to that theater opening.  I think it will be great for the neighborhood, and the far north side in general ( Read more... )

ps. I passed my climbing certification class, and made it up the next route.  And in the process, strained something in my arm.  I really should have just let myself fall instead of trying to stop it ... So like me.  So it goes.

I made it to the top of the climbing wall today.  Yay!!  The next route I tried kicked my butt, though.  I'm fine with that ... I'll get it next time.

For the fourth of July, instead of blowing up fireworks, I blew up my foot.  More specifically, I got a bug bite on my ankle and now my foot has blown up to 1.5 times its normal size.  I thought I had cankles before, but now I know that my cankles are minimal compared with what bug venom will do to me.  I finally went to a clinic this Sunday ( Read more... )

Iced coffee at the gym.  I've seen it twice now, and it still doesn't make sense.  I am quite prone to buying iced coffee drinks from a multitude of institutions.  But, I resist bringing it to pilates or the weight-lifting room.  It probably wouldn't taste too good while on the elliptical, either.  Is my small-mindedness causing me to miss out?

Gosh is it slow at work today. I remember summer being slow, but I guess that since I had only just started last summer, I convinced myself that things felt slow because I was just too new to know what I should be doing. Nope!
