and the problem is, you can be wildly attracted and feel in love at first sight, but you'll never know if it's the real thing until much time has elapsed. that's the true test as far as i'm concerned - does that feeling go away with time, does it stay, does it get stronger?
I have be admit to believing in love at first sight. I am much more rational in other areas of my life, but when it comes to making human connections, I believe that love happens very quickly and irreversibly and yes, it can happen within minutes of meeting someone
( ... )
I don't believe in love at first sight for me, per se, because my definition of love involves many attributes one can't obtain at mere sight.
I do think it's real for some people because of how they process things psychologically - if they want/need it they will find it. If it is in their personality to wear their heart on their sleeve as they search for true love, then most likely they will feel intense love right away.
I believe love at first sight is really just a quick connection mixed with infatuation and attraction - it could lead to something, with more contact and time, but immediate love seems fickle and if you can love that fast, you can almost certainly hate that fast as well....hate at second sight?
Hmm. Animals and children, yes. Inanimate objects, although not responsive, yes. Interpersonal relationships, not so much. Definite insta-connect/bonding/soul-moment, but love... is going to be echoed here, as by all the others... is earned. And not nearly enough.

You've caught me on a day, however, when I'm not even certain that love of any sort exists.
Sorry to be a downer.

I believe in love at first sight for animals only.
