Now you don't have to complete a whole bingo by yourself--we're inviting fans to sign-up here to complete any squares you want (as many as you want), and as a team, we'll try to achieve a bingo (or more)!
FAQ:
- How do we achieve a bingo? Is it a straight line of 5 completed squares, up/down, across, or diagonal? Yes. Any of the above. But there are other combinations that also complete a bingo, such as four corners and the center. We'll be following rules similar to those at hc_bingo here. We can try for a simple bingo, or we can try for a bingo and extras, or we can try to fill the whole card! You fill the squares - and we'll keep track of when we achieve a bingo! (Or more than one! And maybe extra achievements too!)
- How do we complete a square? Lots of options! Just make sure it features hurt!Sam or hurt!Jared, and it can be any of the following, of at least the minimum size/quantity shown:
- Fic (completed, not a WIP) - 500 words
- Art - medium sized (at least 320x240)
- Icons - set of 10
- Podfic - 500 word fic
- Picspam - 20 points. A pic is worth 1 point, a GIF is worth 4 points. So a square is completed if you submit 20 pics, or 5 GIFs, or any combo that reaches at least 20 (e.g. 10 pics + 2 GIFs, etc.)
- Vids - 30 seconds
- Mix - 10 songs with track list and explanation included
- Meta - 1000 words
- What's the deadline? We'll run this activity for 3 months; with squares due to be completed by Tuesday October 15 - the day season 9 begins! ETA: Deadline extended to December 31 2013. How many squares can we fill?
- Okay, sign me up! (But how do I do that, exactly?) It's easy! Just reply to the *Sign-up for a Square* comment below. There's no deadline to sign-up, other than the deadline to complete your square. As folks sign-up, we'll add an asterisk after the label in the square (e.g. see 'cuddling for warmth' above), so we can all see at a glance which squares have been signed up for, and which have not. Note: We welcome many folks signing up for the same square. For example, if we want to do an up-down bingo in the first column, and a bingo across in the top row, then we need two different works for 'parting ways'. (The square above shows one completed fill for 'parting ways' and two more as-yet-unfilled pledges. We want them all!) So, even if someone else signed up for the square that has you inspired, go ahead and sign up too! P.S. You don't have to be a member of spn_littlebro to join our bingo team, but we'd love to have you!
- What do I do when my entry is finished? Post it on your LJ or Tumblr or wherever you normally post your creations. (Feel free to use the bingo icon from the sign-up comment if you want.) Next, come on over to spn_littlebro and look for the bingo tag to find this post again. Then, reply to the *I Completed a Square* comment below. (That comment describes what details you'll need to provide.) We'll update the bingo card: showing the prompt in red on the top card, and with a link on the second card to show a fill. (In the 'crucifixion' example above, it shows on both versions of the card that the square has been completed. In the 'relying on a rival' example above, it indicates that one person has completed the square, and (as a sample) that another person has also signed up for it so another fill should be coming.)
- How much focus does the work have to give the prompt? It should have more than just a singular mention of the prompt. To quote the hc_bingo rules, "It should deal with it in some way. For example, if your prompt is "broken bone" that should be a significant factor in your work, not just a passing mention. How you deal with a prompt is left at your discretion." Also: "All prompts are open to interpretation, as either hurt or comfort. For example, 'tentacles' can vary from a character being attacked by something tentacled to the difficulties of being tentacled to being soothed by tentacles, etc; 'loss of vision' could mean anything from a temporary or permanent loss of sight to the loss of ones' vision/goal/future/psychic sight to the removal of a hurtful vision/psychic sight, etc."
- What about that WILD CARD? Yes, you can sign up for the wild card. We can have lots of people sign up for the wild card, and if we accomplish a bingo that goes thru the center square, then the first one who completes it is part of that bingo. But we can have more that one bingo, and more than one person complete this square. You just have to create hurt!Sam or hurt!Jared in one of the formats listed above, and one of the types of h/c listed here. (We're following the hc_bingo guidelines as much as possible.)
- Can a single creation cover more than one square? Ultimately, no. Sorry. For example, the fic may cover both cages and torture, but you can only use it in one square. HOWEVER -if the story does explore more than one in detail, you can identify both and let the spn_littlebro mods pick the square that brings us closest to bingo.
- What's in it for me? LOL! For starters, we'll have a special bingo section in our monthly newsletter and will pimp your creation there. (So whatever you want us to mention in the newsletter (summary, word count, etc.) should be in the comment where you tell us that you completed a square.)
- I still have a question you didn't cover! Just comment here and we'll do our best to answer!
