They're admitting Sam to the hospital for tonight. They're pretty sure that she has a blood clot in her lung. They're keeping her for more testing, though she's fighting them  I swear, this week just keeps getting better... I'd ask what's next, but I really hope this is the end of it and things turn around for the better really soon. :( Diane's ( Read more... )

I'm doing just that... Sal and I are both so pathetic right now, and with this going on, we decided to stay home. If we get dropped, we get dropped, and there's not a lot to be done about it. But he wants to be close by in case his mom needs him, ya know?

Thanks for the hugs... they're much appreciated!

Oh my god. Good thoughts and prayers are definitely being sent.

She should not be fighting being admitted. I hate to be a downer, but she needs to be in the hospital or she will be in very grave danger of dying (as it is, even in the hospital it's a serious condition). This is NOT something she should be ignoring. I so hope you guys get some good news, and very soon.

I know. I know that blood clots are over-sensationalized on TV a lot, but they really are very dangerous and unpredictable. So we're praying and just kinda waiting to see how things go. The encouraging part is that their dad had blood clots at about the same age, and he's still kicking, so hopefully it will be fine. And the hospital she's at is now part of a really good network, so she'll get good care and really good docs, even without insurance. They're all about making sure she's okay, which is as it should be.

Thanks for the support. I can feel your energy all the way down here. :) *hugs*

We lost a knight/former king up here in Ealdormere a few years ago due to a blood clot, plus I work for Heart and Stroke Ontario, so the possibilities of what could happen are definitely front and centre in my brain. I'm glad to hear that her family tends to be able to deal with such a thing, though it's terribly scary.

We're sending healing prayers your way. Rorik was hospitalized for most of a week in January with a similar clot - this is something you really don't want to mess with. The hospital is the best place to be monitored and to get the proper levels of blood thinner established. It's been over a month now and we are still getting blood work every two weeks to fine tune his coumadin. Take care of Sal and yourself, this is very stressful for everyone.
