It looks like Matthew went to go dive off some rocks edging the lake, something all the guys in Tyler's family do together every time they go to Sly Park, and he hit his head on the edge.  We just found out; Tyler's cousin, Matthew, drowned last night at Jenkinson Lake, up in Sly Park. We don't know details; all we were told was that he went out swimming Sunday afternoon and didn't come back.

Please pray, or whatever you do, for us. It's tough.

I thought that driving to school with the top down on my car would be a nice, fun thing. Until I got on the freeway, and the thermometer in my car shot up to 90-something. Ew. Thank heaven for the breeze that is created when you're driving 75 MPH.

What I've learned from SOC 150: Japanese first grade seems way cooler than American first grade. American first graders don't get to sing about the banana land.  So I've just gotten my Sociology of Children and Adolescents exam out of the way, and I am feeling pretty schmaltzy.
