We just got a call letting us know that my grandmother passed away at about 3am this morning. Unfortunately no family member was with her as the snow prevented by aunt getting back to the hospital.

My poor poor dad. He has lost both his wife and his mother in space of 11 weeks.

My grandmother is rapidly deteriorating now. She has apparently been on an oxygen mask and unconscious all day. My dad's way of reacting to all this is to go into total denial mode. He had a business meeting in Cheltenham planned, and carried on with it regardless, ignoring my texts and phone calls to get him to contact my aunt who was trying to ( Read more... )

I have spent much of this afternoon filling out my travel insurance claim forms to try and get a refund from the Florida trip I cancelled last November. Of course, in writing it all out it has brought back all the memories from those few months, which is not helpful.
