I made Caldo Verde tonight for the first time. Anthony Bourdain was visiting Puerto Rico on "No Reservations" and ate this soup and was raving about it, so I hustled over to the computer and looked up the recipe. In a few moments I'll be in a borrowed vehicle, riding with three of my girls to Michigan, where we will stay for (almost) 3 days in a "cabin" (hardly roughing it) and indulge in sleeping in, lounging on leather couches in front of the fireplace, and eating and drinking and talking.

We are just starting to get our footing after a nice long holiday filled with fun and lots of friends we don't get to see too often.  It was great, but I'm glad that things are going to be normal (our version) soon.  Elliot went back to therapy this week, and starts school again this coming Monday.
