My favorite part of the day lately is the hour just after I've had my coffee in the morning, when the caffeine is fully perking through my veins and the day is laid out before me, full of possibilities.

I'm proud to say I finally made perfect biscuits last night.  I never thought I'd nail it, but I did.  What a triumph!

Well, I got the call from the doctor:  It's definitely basal cell carcinoma.  I will have to have surgery.  I'm a little worried, but I'm trying to remember that this type of skin cancer grows incredibly slowly, so hopefully it will all be caught pretty easily.  Secondarily (and obviously much less importantly), I am a little worried that there ( Read more... )

Wednesday was the last day for Carl in his corporate job.  That was really, really great news, of course.  We're really excited to begin this new chapter of our lives as self-employed people.
