Classes & Time Turners
Since some of you have been asking about classes, we've decided to do a post sorting it out! In the first two years of school, students have eight required courses. In third year, the number of required courses drops from eight to six, whereupon students may choose up to four electives to take in conjunction with those six, if they feel they can handle it! They continue these courses up through fifth year, during which they take their O.W.L.s. If they gain high enough marks on the O.W.L.s, they may go on to the N.E.W.T. levels of these courses for sixth and seventh year.

While most students at Hogwarts take between eight to ten classes per year, there are those students whose interest in the academic exceeds that of the average student. At the end of second year, these students may apply for a Time Turner, which will allow them to take an unlimited number of courses. Keep in mind these devices are only awarded to those with exemplary academic and behavioral records. If your student would like to apply for a time turner, please have them fill out the form below. These forms are magically binding once signed, and if this honor statement is broken, there will be severe consequences, as decided by the Headmaster and Heads of House.

I, First Name Last Name, do swear that by submitting this application, I intend to use the time turner, if it is awarded to me, only for the academic purpose of taking more classes than would normally be possible. I agree to accept any punishment decided upon by the higher authorities of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the event that I break this vow.
Players of students requesting a time turner, if your character has been found worthy of a time turner, it will be retroactive from either the beginning of their third year, or the first year they began at Hogwarts if later than third year. Time turners are given on a by-character basis, so there is no limit on how many of your characters may have one, as long as they are the type of character who would realistically be given one. Also, if there are any additional notes you'd like to make, like your character wants one but you'd like them to be denied, place that in [OOC brackets] in the application comment.
