Self depreciation is not the same as being humble. Being humble implies that you know you are better than the average person and you choose not to shove that down their throats. I had a strangely amazing Decemberween. I'm not always comfortable with my family. I love them. They love me. But I don't really fit. This year felt different. Found out that Supernaturals new episodes (for Season 6) start on September 24. I was so very excited. Then it was pointed out to me that September 24th was a Friday. Um, NO! Water, water every where.
It's strange to go home to visit family. It's like all the pieces fit, but there are monumental gaps that make you uncomfortable in your hierarchy. I miss parts of my family so much that it's jarring to be there with them one moment and realize I won't see them again for a half a year. One long weekend is not enough time for me.
