How many elements from the Periodic Table can you name in 15 minutes?

I got 63 on the first try, 72 when I tried again an hour later. Not as good as I'd expected to do, but it's in the top 5% for the population at large (now how did they get a truly random sample of people to take that test?).

It seems odd if not inappropriate for a delivery failure notice from the mail server at a socially oriented site such as livejournal to use the following text (the red highlighting is mine):

I'm holding a sleeping baby over my left shoulder while typing with my right index finger. poor kid had an earache today and now she's super sleepy, but too restless to sleep for long on her own. so i hold her while she adjusts herself and twitches fitfully like a sleeping dog dreaming of chasing rabbits or something. it is teh cute ( Read more... )

Woo! I feel so totally and completely relaxed compared to where I was a few hours ago. Sitting at my computer earlier this evening, I happened to reach back and pinch my shoulder muscles, suddenly realizing that I was carrying a great deal of tension there without realizing it consciously. After what seemed like forever, we finally got our baby back from the hospital and brought her home, where she was welcomed (or at least sniffed) by all the members of the household.
While the staff and facilities at the MGH NICU are first rate, this is where she belongs.
