I read an article that said that happy couples hug twice a day for at least 20 seconds. I tried it the other day, and 20 seconds is a long time. :) Sam has never been a hugger. I'm having a minor squeeee moment. Sam's Dad has me listed as his daughter in law on Facebook. Oh, and Sam gave me flowers for no reason today.

I love grad school. I hate the work, but I love knowing I'm smart. My creativity and my intelligence are the two things I've never had to struggle to feel proud of. So, when my efforts are rewarded with praise, it feels fantastic. It's nice to know that you are universally good at something rather than just being a big fish in a small pond.

My great uncle Wayne died. Oddly enough, he and I were actually pretty close. He was like another grandfather to me...which makes sense because he was my grampa's brother. It hit me pretty hard. Happy Birthday To Me
I'm 33 today. I'm 1/3 of the way to getting my MA. I've been in love for over 8 years. My portfolio is stronger than it has ever been. I continue to get freelance work. We're moving back to WA soon.
I'm in a good place right now. Utah sucks and I miss my family and friends, but I know that I am so very very lucky.

After I quit my job when my boss called me a bitch and a dumbass, Sam said that in the eight years we've been together, he's never wanted to call me a bitch.
That tells me two things. First, my boss was out of line, and I was right to quit. Second, Sam loves me in that long term unquestioning way.

Life Update
I quit my job. My boss was abusive. His idea of management was yelling. Yelling and telling people they could quit and it wouldn't matter to him. His management experience comes from running his family restaurant. I tried to tell him many times that telling servers that they need to shape up or they can be replaced is one thing. Turns out I can't see.
So, I had to get glasses. My eyes are fatigued to the point where my distance and up close vision are suffering.
