Can anyone identify this beautiful baby whom I almost stepped on (barefoot)just now at my back door? I actually touched its tail, too, because I'm fucking insane. It then slithered underneath a tool rack.

This my friend, looks like a speckled kingsnake. They are non-venomous snakes found in the south, between Tennessee and Louisiana.

Thanks! I'm glad to know it's not venemous, as we have too many kids and animals running around here all the time for that!

I concur. That is indeed a kingsnake. A nice long one. As to its gender I can not say as herpetology is not my strong suit.
