Chapter Thirty-Four

Kara smiled sharply as the blips she had spotted on her dradis were confirmed as Cylons.  Her last few CAPs had been dull and uneventful; it would be good to finally see a little action.

“Apollo, I have two Cylon raiders on dradis.  Do you copy?”

She scanned around her as she spoke, braced for more raiders to appear, but ( Read more... )

Huh. I definitely wasn't expected Shevon. I can't wait to see how you work this development into the story that you created.

I think it's so cute that Zak and Emma are so close, but... poor Lee. And them talking about him when there's a good possibility that he'll hear... not cool. I get that they're only trying to help, but no one likes being talked about behind their back.

So now I'm wondering how Lee will get over this. Will he end up telling Kara, going to see the shrink, or possibly telling Shevon? Hmmm. You definitely have me thinking. :)

Well, the next chapter is the Black Market episode chapter (which was the worst one to write!)

And them talking about him when there's a good possibility that he'll hear... not cool.

And not very sensible...they both know Lee well enough to know how he'll probably react. Maybe they both had a drink too many...

So now I'm wondering how Lee will get over this. Will he end up telling Kara, going to see the shrink, or possibly telling Shevon?

Don't worry, he's not going to tell Shevon! I never found it believable he talked to her about his secrets (Gianne) in the show, so it's not going to happen in my fic! :)

Shevon was a suprise to me as well, but her introduction felt so much more organic than what we got in canon. But then again, I think it's already become obvious that I like your season 2.5 much better than Ron's, lol.

Good, because that's exactly why she turned up in this chapter, so that she didn't just show up out of the blue and instead did so at a point where Lee is in a low state of mind that hopefully explains why he takes up with her.

Poor Lee doesn't stand a chance with all his friends and family ganged up on him! I would be just as angry though, walking back into a room to find myself and my problems the subject of playful, casual conversation.

Grrrr for Shevon though. I never really forgave Lee for needing/seeing Shevon in S2 and I'm not sure I'm going to cut him anymore slack this time around...;)

Well, I think anyone would. Zak and Emma definitely screwed up there.

Oh, I know it's completely irrational and very double-standardish of me, but I have always begrudged Lee the right to take refuge in mindless, impersonal sex (whereas I am mostly comfortable with Kara using sex as therapy). I'll try to cut him a little more slack this time around since he was weathered more recent rejection and trauma than in the canon version of Black Market.

It could be worse. He could be giving Dee self-defence lessons.

Haha, absolutely! I'm definitely grateful to be spared that :D

Ahh...I really love the way you've woven Shevon into the story. Lee feeling betrayed by two of the people closest to him and Kara still keeping him at a distance is a great way to tie in that storyline.

Also loved the fallout from Lee's past experience. And I sorta love that even Emma's not clear on what happened to him. Lee having pieces of himself that no one knows just fits.

Can't wait for more...I love this fic!!

Thanks. I felt Lee's had enough stress in the last few chapters that it's understandable that he sees Shevon as a way of temporary escape.

And I sorta love that even Emma's not clear on what happened to him. Lee having pieces of himself that no one knows just fits.

I've always thought there are a lot of things about Lee that no-one else knows. He's not exactly someone who confides easily.

poor Lee, everyone talking about him at his back. I know if I were in his place I would had been as mad as he was.
I've never liked Shevon, but I guess Lee needed a way out, a relief and he didn't had anyone else at the moment, he needed someone who didn't judge him.

Lee looked up, his eyes suddenly bright. “I’m sorry, Dad. For letting you all down like this.”
I love this part, because it shows how Lee is feeling at the moment, but more than letting everyone else down, he fail to himself and couldn't control the situation, and we know how much he hates that.

Well I can't wait to see what will happen next and how you're going to solve this anxiety attacks.

That's exactly what I was trying to get across. Don't worry, he's not going to get attached to her or anything! Not in my version.

Yes, that's definitely what is bugging Mr Control Freak the most. :)
