Chapter Thirteen

Frak.  Lee had been hoping Laura wouldn’t find out about Baltar until the evacuation had started and she had bigger problems to worry about.  He knew she wouldn’t be pleased.

“Was it you, Lee?” she repeated sharply when he didn’t reply.

Lee lifted his chin.  He wasn’t going to lie to her.

“Yes.”

Laura looked slightly taken aback.  ( Read more... )

What an exciting chapter! Very interesting argument between Laura and Lee, despite his argumentation I had the feeling that her reminder, that the Captain Apollo he once was wouldn't have killed Baltar, made an impact on him.

I loved the scene between Kara and Lee, finally she knows why he left the fleet and why he feels so much guilt regarding Ana. And he loves her so frakking much. Awww! *squee*. The sad part of this scene is, he has a point. If it had been Kara who was on New Caprica with him and had been captured by the Cylons he would have told them everything about the resistance, I guess. So I understand why he feels so guilty...but I still hope his guilt won't keep him from getting closer with Kara in the future.

I can't wait to know, what's happens next. Where is he gone? Maybe he joins the mission despite Laura's order...I'm looking forward to read the next chapter :D

So glad you said that, that is exactly what I was trying to get across that Lee was thinking without actually stating it directly.

The Lee/Laura scene is my wish-fulfilment - I wish we had seen them talk about some of these issues between them on the show.

You may be able to guess where Lee has gone - who was he busy talking to in the last chapter?

What a wonderful chapter! The interactions between Lee and Laura and Lee and Kara were so emotional, I actually cried. Boy, when Lee opens up, it's all or nothing!

At the risk of sounding redundant, I really love your Lee. And I love Kara in this story as well.

Wow, what a lovely compliment.

This was definitely the Lee emotional-meltdown chapter. He's been slowly cracking over the story, and finally it all comes out.

I'm so pleased you're enjoying this.

but then Lee would remmeber about the Cain order (something I wish they would have discussed in the show).

So do I - that's why I wrote them having this discussion. I do miss Lee & Laura scenes!

I hope that he'll be able to get over the guilt he feels and start living again.

Well, now he's finally broken down and told someone what's wrong, things may be looking up :-)

As for where he's gone, who was he busy talking to in the last chapter?

Thought you'd like this chapter :-)

I remember a few chapters back you commented that you didn't like how much Lee loved Dee in this story, and I was grinning to myself because I knew this scene was coming up where the whole problem is that he didn't love her - or certainly not as much as he loves Kara. My stories always end up Lee/Kara eventually.

I hope its true on the show too, but we don't have enough information yet to know, particularly concerning what they fell out about. Actually I'm more uncertain on the show as to whether Kara loves Lee rather than the other way round, because she does seem happy with Anders (although I like to hope she still loves Lee underneath :)

As for Dee, after that comment about marrying Lee because he was like his father, I now definitely dislike their relationship, whereas before I was on the fence. As you say, it's definitely not love.

Only seen Phantom once so can't identify the song - now if we were talking about Les Miserables, I'd be on surer ground!

I've always disliked the Lee/Dee thing, and not just because I want Lee with Kara (which obviously I do). I mean I like Kara and Anders because it's a fun, healthy and loving relationship. The Lee/Dee thing always made me cringe - how can you be sleeping with one guy while another one is hopelessly in love with you and wanting to marry you, without telling him? I think I started to despise her about then, and Lee too for being spineless enough to go along with it. if it had been done differently I think I would have at least not minded it, even if I didn't like it. Bad writing and bad acting I think (for season 2). I'm guessing that the rift between Lee and Dee (she says 'I'm not looking for another fight - meaning they've already been having some) is on purpose and that the marriage definitely won't last long once Lee figures out it's more for convenience and stepping up the ladder than for love.
