I like men who have a future and women who have a past.
∼ Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
"I'd love to make MAD, PASSIONATE LOVE to you."
"What? You're singing a song from Meredith Wilson's The Music Man:
'I smile; I grin,
When a girl with an air of sin walks in;
I hope; I pray,
For Hester to win just one more A;
The sadder, but wiser girl for me…'
"Or did you cast yourself as Wuthering Heights's Heathcliff in your head, or something? You act as if you expect me to model myself on Hester, the heroine in Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter who's condemned by the very minister she had an affair with!
"If I could see you naked, I'd die happy," he murmured, clutching her more tightly to him.
"If I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing," she said through gritted teeth as she restored a gap between their bodies. "Take a look at me. Take a REALLY GOOD look! This is what's called 'Truth in Packaging.' I don't make love any better than I look, and I have absolutely NO intentions of indulging with you, or any other married man."
Undeterred, he persisted, tipping his head and smiling coyly, "How do you like your eggs in the morning?"
"Unfertilized!" she sneered, her face reddening.
"You're stunningly beautiful when you're angry."
She grimaced, shuddering. "UUUH, you're IMPOSSIBLE! What part of 'NO WAY' don't you understand?" she half shouted through clinched teeth.
