Grading Like Crazy
Friday: 3:30
School's Out! Teachers can leave at 3:35... right! Like that will happen!
No idea what time I'll finish tonight. My stacks are endless. All the procrastinators overran the in box. Anything not done by 4 p.m. is goose egged...
Next semester, more than one day late, I'll subtract a point per day... That way, it takes GOOD ATTENDANCE to pass. No workplace would survive with the absence rate we tolerate for the most unbelievable excuses imaginable.
The secretary is cute, blond, sweet, but a positive pushover.
Friday: 10:11 p.m.
That's it! The end of first semester! Every last paper and test turned in on time is graded, and the grades are posted in the office. It is after 10 p.m. and I am for home!
Friday: 11:14 p.m.
Somehow, I imagined I'd just drop right off to sleep, but oh, no. I have to go another round with the recurring dream. And, since I live alone, you, dear journal, are the recipient of all that insomniacal energy. Okay, now I'm dropping off.
