This is a picture of the coagulated blood I was talking about in a previous entry. They call it blood tofu. It has very little flavor and a soft rubbery texture.

There is a first grader who always tries to talk to us fast in Chinese. We always tell her we don't understand, but instead of slowing down, she says it louder like she thinks we are deaf. This happens day after day. That kid will never catch on.

I met a Frenchman in the wine section of Carrefour today. I asked him where he got the baguette in his basket and he showed me. It's cool how exotic blue eyes look to me now even though I have some myself. Most of the day I look at other people's eyes though, not my own. This guy had very blue eyes. Today in the lunchroom kids started chanting my name when I walked by like I was a rock star.

I've noticed that Chinese women can eat about twice as much as I can in one sitting.

I ate coagulated blood today. It was okay.

I went to work today only to learn that my first two periods were canceled and I only had to teach one class. I sat around listening to music and reading (I'm less than 50 pages from finishing Dracula) until it was time teach fourth period. This morning on the bus we got stuck in seats that weren't our usual ones. The seat on front of mine was broken so that it was permanently leaned back. If that wasn't enough, I discovered about five minutes into the bus ride that my bottom seat cushion was soaked in some kind of vile smelling liquid.
