-chapter three-
The bunny was lost, but so was my heart.

Heechul watched fondly as Sungmin ran around the house trying to find his bunny. It was the weekend, and they didn’t have a schedule for once. The PD hyungs told them that they could have a whole month to themselves. They didn’t explain why, but Super Junior were too happy to ask anyway. They needed this break.

Sungmin would occasionally stop at the couch where his hyung had made himself comfortable, to complain. “Hyuuuung! I don’t know where he is!!!” His cheeks puffed out in annoyance. Heechul smiled and retorted, “Minnah~ look with your eyes, not with your mouth. Ya~ just go.” He gestured for the younger boy to leave. “You won’t find him if you stand here talking to me.” Sungmin grinned and continued on his quest.

It was Yesung who had taken the bunny. He was fed up of Sungmin’s childish behaviour and he had hoped that if the bunny was gone, Sungmin would learn to grow up a little. He was proven very wrong. Sungmin greeted him with big eyes and a wide smile. “Yesungie hyung~ have you seen my bunny? He got lost somewhere. He must‘ve been trying to find me!” Yesung scoffed at the younger boy. “Bunnies can’t walk Sungmin, and even if they could, why would they want to come find you?” He turned away and started walking towards the kitchen. “Don’t you like me, hyung?” He heard a little giggling voice ask. “No,” he said to himself. “I don’t like you at all.”

Ryeowook had watched his hyung hide away the bunny. “Why are you doing this, hyung?” “It’s for you, Ryeowookah~ so that when Sungmin asks you where the bunny is, you can give it to him and say some ridiculous thing like the bunny wanted to spend time with you. Then, because the bunny wanted to be with you, he‘ll want to be with you too.” Ryeowook thought this was a marvellous plan but found it slightly evil. He faced Yesung bashfully. “Hyung~ Why are you doing this for me?” Yesung only grinned at Ryeowook and walked away. Ryeowook was glad to have such a kind and caring hyung like Yesung.

A huge crash was heard from the far side of the house. It was followed by the sound of laughter and Sungmin’s cute voice squealing. He had run into Leeteuk who was trying to do the dishes. Sungmin quickly got up from the ground where he fell and started to flee. “I’m sorry hyung,” he said between giggles. “I didn’t mean to do it! I thought that my bunny was hiding in the dishes!” He shrieked with laughter and ran away. That kid has way too much energy. Leeteuk thought tiredly to himself. He picked up the broken pieces of cutlery with Yesung’s help. “Jongwoon…” Leeteuk said warily. “Yes, hyung?” “Please do something about Sungmin~ he’s giving me a headache.” Yesung smirked. “It’s already taken care of.” He hoped everything would go according to plan.

Sungmin was getting tired and he still hadn’t found his bunny. He had managed to run around the house like a maniac a few times and bothered a lot of the members to the point where they asked him to just go away already. Content with the mischief he had caused, he returned to the couch where Heechul was sitting. He started to talk about his adventures but Heechul wasn’t where he had left him. His furrowed his eyebrows. Where could Heechulie hyung have gone? Sungmin started to feel sad. He thought his hyung would sit there all day and wait for him until he found his bunny. He gave an unhappy sigh. He figured that his hyung must’ve gone to use the toilet or something. He started to leave the living room.

As he was walking through the door, he collided with Ryeowook. “Wookieah!” He was glad to see his dongsaeng. He put two arms on Ryeowook’s shoulders and looked straight into his eyes. “I have a very important question to ask you, Ryeowookah~ and you better answer me honestly!” Ryeowook’s heat skipped a beat as he anticipated the question his hyung was about to ask him. He was too nervous to say anything, so he just nodded. Sungmin beamed. “Have you seen Heechulie hyung? He was sitting right there before,” he pointed at the couch where Heechul could previously have been found. “but now he’s not.” Ryeowook was forlorn~ he should’ve known that that’s what his hyung would ask. He started to open his mouth but Sungmin was too quick for him. “You know, never mind about him at the moment.” Sungmin was clearly annoyed. “I’ll see him later.” Ryeowook was taken aback. “Hyung?” Sungmin nodded thoughtfully. “I haven’t asked you yet… have you seen my bunny? I’m really sad without him.” He produced a fake tear to prove his point. Ryeowook’s face lit up. This was the moment Yesung had been talking about!

“Actually I have, hyung.” Sungmin practically jumped at those words, his expectant eyes bore into Ryeowook’s. Sungmin jumped up and down with glee as he followed Ryeowook to the hiding spot where he saw his hyung hide the bunny earlier. “Tada! Here he is! He wanted to spend some time with me, you see.” he said with a shy smile. He handed the bunny over to Sungmin who had been following him so close that he was shocked by the intimacy. Sungmin yelled in delight. “Thank you, Ryeowookah!” He gave the younger boy a big cuddle. “This means so much to me!” He let go of Ryeowook and unintentionally started to ignore him to speak to his bunny. He cooed at it so affectionately that you‘d find it hard to believe that it wasn’t alive. “You’ve been lost, haven’t you mister bunny? Let’s go find Heechulie to show him that you’ve been found!” He gave the bunny a big hug before he skipped away, shouting out Heechul’s name so loud that it echoed across the house. Ryeowook was dismayed. You were wrong, hyung. Sungmin doesn’t like me any more than before I gave him back the bunny. Oh… what should I do? Ryeowook buried his face in his hands and let out all the tears that had been building up inside.
