-chapter four-
Hidden secrets revealed to unsuspecting company.
Heechul was taken out to the garden by Siwon. The younger man had wanted to practice his lines, and thought that fellow actor hyung would help him (plus Kibum - who he really wanted to ask - was busy filming somewhere else). Heechul was flattered. “Of course I can help you,” he drawled. “I’m the best actor to ever live, you know? It’s a good thing you came to me; now your acting will escalate ten fold!” Siwon rolled his eyes. His hung’s ego was so big that it was best just to play along, otherwise get scorched by his fiery temper. Heechul hyung angry was a scary sight indeed. “I know hyung,” he patted him on the back. “Now, just help me practice, okay?”
Yesung was left alone in the kitchen as Leeteuk had finished with the dishes and went to have a bit of a lie down after the incident with Sungmin. He was very tired. Yesung sipped on his coffee thoughtfully. I wonder if Sungmin has asked Ryeowook about the bunny yet. On cue, Ryeowook, with red puffy eyes walked through the doorway. “Ah… Kim Ryeowook. I was just thinking about you. Come sit next to me.” He gestured to the seat next to him. He noticed the redness of his dongsaeng’s eyes but waited for Ryeowook to say something first. “Hyung,” he said sniffing a bit. “The plan didn’t work… Sungmin still loves Heechul.” Yesung frowned. So Sungmin wasn’t that easy to win over. He sipped some more coffee. “I feel bad, hyung.” Yesung was brought back from his thoughts. “Hmm? Why’s that Ryeowook? Is it because of Sungmin?” “No, hyung.” Ryeowook said quietly. “It’s because of you.”
“Me? Have I done something wrong by you, Kim Ryeowook?” Yesung was amused. It wasn’t often that people told him that they made him feel bad. They’d usually be too scared. “Oh…” Ryeowook finally realised what it sounded like. “N-no!!! You’ve done nothing bad, hyung! I’ve… just been feeling selfish. You’ve helped me so much, and I haven’t done a thing for you at all!” Yesung smirked and gave Ryeowook a look which prompted him to explain. “You told me that you had a lost love too, hyung, and I… I just ignored it because I was too busy thinking about myself and Sungmin hyung. I’d feel better if you told me who it was. Maybe I could help you!” Ryeowook realised how straightforward he sounded. “B-but… you know… that is… well… only if you wanted to tell me, of course...” Yesung let out a raucous laugh. He had forgotten that he let Ryeowook in on his little secret. He thought it’d be fun if he made it into a game. “You really want to know, Wookie?” The younger boy nodded. Yesung smiled, “Then let’s play a guessing game.”
“The one I love… is the most beautiful person you would ever see. He has the smoothest and silkiest hair and the best complexion too. He is very smart and witty but plays mindless games sometimes as well. He’s known to act really cutesy to the point of annoyance but he wouldn’t ever intentionally hurt anyone. He is usually loud, but it’s scary when he’s deadly silent. Do you know who he is yet?” Ryeowook thought he did but he needed confirmation. “Just one more clue, please hyung?” Yesung complied. “He laughs a lot at the stupidest things and makes a big fool of himself a lot as well. If you still don’t know who he is then afraid we’ll just have to leave it at that.” He said the last sentence quite carefully, eyeing the lively Sungmin who had just come into the kitchen. He had given up trying to find Heechul. He figured that Heechul could come to him. “Hi Wookah~ Yesungie hyung~! Don’t mind me, I’m just getting a carrot for my bunny. He’s really hungry from being lost!” He smiled happily to himself and picked out the biggest carrot. Ryeowook and Yesung could only watch; they just didn’t know how to react or what to say. “Okay, got it!” Sungmin triumphantly showed them the carrot. “Isn’t it big?” He laughed gleefully. “My bunny will be so full after eating this!” He ran out of the kitchen. Ryeowook looked at Yesung and whispered a name into his ear. “Yep, that’s the one, Ryeowookah. He’s the one I love.” Ryeowook’s eyes grew wide in amazement. He never thought that his hyung would go for that type of person. As much as he wanted to help his hyung, he didn’t think he could.
The sun was setting and it was starting to get cold. “Choi Siwon~ we’ve been practicing for hours! Let’s stop now, okay?” It was more of an order than a request. Siwon sighed. He wasn’t even done yet; but he still appreciated his hyung’s help. He actually helped a lot more than he thought he would. They entered the house through the kitchen and saw Yesung and Ryeowook in a deep conversation of some sort. Heechul giggled. “You think they’re in love, Siwonnie?” Siwon got embarrassed and replied, choosing his words carefully. “They do look quite intense, hyung. But being in love… being in love is how I am right now.” Heechul didn’t pick up on Siwon’s hint; and if he did, he completely ignored it. “I wonder where Sungmin is?” He walked away from a shocked Siwon. I should’ve expected him to react in that way, Siwon thought to himself. One day I’ll have the courage to confess my true feelings in such a way that he can’t just brush it off that way! He smiled to himself and started to walk in the direction of his room. On his way out he heard something come out of Ryeowook’s mouth that he didn’t expect to hear from the innocent boy. “I want it to hurt him as much as possible hyung; for what he’s done.”
