Love Letters

Time Magazine has a special issue out on romance. The articles are rather silly for the most part, but just as I was getting annoyed at the heterosexual monogamous assumptions in them, bless their hearts they actually has an article looking at the differences among gay, lesbian and straight couples. Oh wow. That just stopped my heart. O_O even if I've grown very cynical as it comes to "love" in the previous months due to my experiences, that was refreshing to read. Even if I'd be curious to see what he thinks in a few months though (granted that he got the reaction he hoped for).

Mmh, well yeah.

Of the letters in the Time article, this was the only one that was gender neutral, due to its not having any names, or a caption. So which is the "he" you're reffering to I wonder? The writer or the reciever, or both? lol.

I actually envisioned that a woman had written it (subjectively because that'd have been my preference if it had been written to me, obectively because of the part about being sore in the right places -- although that too need not be gender-bound).

It's funny as a piece of writing though: the 1st paragraph is hot, but in a very cliched way. The second paragraph is rather dry by itself, but in combination they create such an honest sense of intimacy.

I just (re)checked out your profile page, and realized you're subscribed to (skating_videos). Do you skate?? :-)

haha, good point. I don't have a gender-preference either, but having an ongoing emotional experience concerning a man, my subconsiousness saw it as a man. Especially as I, like you, felt it on a very personal level.

And as with skating: I had very bad childhood experiences with skates (or rather the way they were tied on me), so I never got into it. I did start watching male figure skating a couple years back, and fell in love. It also infused the desire to get into skating myself as I am a passionate dancer, and would love applying my moves to the ice. I have been out to the rink a few times now in the past couple years, but not very actively. So no, not properly yet, but I (hopefully) will soon :)
