It's a little late for spring cleaning, I know... but it's hard getting started when you keep getting boxes of things delivered to your home. Dessie's REALLY been into online shopping. Every day, she finds more and more things she wants! I lent her my card so she can order without having to ask me; some days, I'll wake up in the morning to ANOTHER ( Read more... )

It's Batman, of course, pal!

You can't get any better than him! You just can't! It's not humanly possible or something! He's the world's greatest detective, and he's a billionaire too! Batman doesn't need any superpowers, either. He's the best superhero there is!

I completely agree, sir!

Batman and Robin are the best duo ever!

Batman is a really cool detective; I agree! Most of his power comes from his mind, not his fists. But I have to wonder if Robin is necessary... I mean, if Batman is that great, shouldn't he be able to work alone? I know he does a lot of that already but Robin is still aren't, isn't he...

Not much of a comic reader, but I read a piece or two of this one called "Watchmen" and it had this guy..Rorscach or something like that, man.

Now there was a crime fighter. I ain't going to forget that part where he said "There is good and there is evil, and evil must be punished, even in the face of armageddon I shall not compromise on this."

I like that.

I've heard a LOT of positive things about Watchmen, but I haven't read it or seen the film. Sounds like a take-no-prisoners type character, and... I don't really agree with that line of thinking, though it does make for a very compelling character! There are shades of grey that need to be taken into account when fighting crime...

I have not read many comics to be most honest... but when I was tiny I really liked this series called Bone. I really like Fone Bone a lot but I think everyone does (he is the hero afterall!).

Bone! I've read Bone! I was little when I read it, too. He's a very likable character, isn't he? I liked the dragon, too, and the dynamic between them.

I love Der rote Drache! I like the story between him and Großmutter Buster (I think her name was different in Englisch? Thorn's grandmother? I have only read the series in German and I think some of the names might be different... I should get it in Englisch though, ja?)

Thorn's grandmother reminds me of MY grandmother. She even raises cattle, too! No cow races, though...

When I was younger, I read a series of books about Dream - a anthropomorphic personification of the concept of Dream itself, not a king but the walking essence of dreams. His name in his contemporary incarnation was Morpheus. The books were called Sandman.

I always admired Morpheus - not because he was so powerful, but because he grew and became better.

Oh, Sandman! I heard the name come up a lot in high school. There was a group who would sit in a circle outside their lockers reading it, every lunch break. They wore a lot of black and some funny make-up.

They may have been dressing up like Morpheus, come to think. Pale dude.

Give it a look.

I've seen some of the cool illustrations before. It looks quite gothic!

....

Um... this isn't indicative of your lifestyle choice in school in any way, is it?
