Honestly? My memory sucks. I know he said Lord of the Rings, some Salinger. He said 9 stories (I think that's what it was) was the best bound thing he read. And he also mentioned some other things which I can't remember.
First off, good on you for being on time for the show. Running for thirty minutes in the heat? Yeah, I'm impressed you held on that long.
Holy crap, a toss! Again? That's blowing my mind. When are you going to a taping again, so I know when to come along. Well, singing along to 'Holland, 1945' is the best thing one can do. And like I've said on Twitter, that photograph Stephen took is so, so, incredibly awesome.
I've read tons of TCR taping reports over the years and each of them make me want to have been there in the studio with the people. If I'm ever going to be in New York, attending a taping of The Colbert Report will be the first thing I am going to do. And aside from me wanting to see Stephen in person, details of what happened or behind the scenes stuff are always interesting to me.
I'm impressed too. I was so intent to just get there so I kept running. My legs are letting me know about it today though.
Yes a toss and I've worked out I've seen a toss 3 times now. Twice on the TDS end and now once on the TCR end. How lucky am I? Next time I'll be going to a taping will hopefully be next year as I just want to keep coming back to NYC. Next June probably if you're up for it. Holland 1945 is such an awesome song and it's full of TCR memories for me now. I love the photograph.
Yes you must come to a taping. It's really interesting how they do it all. Plus I liked that we got hear Jimmy for a second because someone asked who he was. I may have yayed out loud when Stephen was asking Jimmy to say hi over the speakers. I heart Jimmy. But I didn't want to bombard him last night when he came out. hehe.
