There are two kinds of people in this world:

1. Those who answer, "I listen to pretty much everything" when asked what kind of music they listen to, who honestly do listen to everything because they have an appreciation for musicians and music.

and

2. Those who also answer, "I listen to pretty much everything" but in fact only listen to a few ( Read more... )

Heh heh heh... I like listening to everything. People in my neck of the woods think it's insane that a redneck like me goes for punk rock first, and throughly enjoys classical music. I was once a musician, so there are few things in terms of music I shy away from. Really, anything that inspires a response in my mind is fair game for one of my CD's for my car.

Which is the way it ought to be!

Exact-ick-tally.

(hehe, that's my impersonation of the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland when he's trying to say "exactly" but his bottom legs keep falling off the mushroom causing him to stutter, to which he eventually uses the word "precisely")

Random side note, a few of my friends used to call me the cheshire cat due to my smile, and my sporadically odd nature. One friend bought me a plush cheshire, which I treasure greatly.

I have a pretty wide variety of taste in music and I will give just about anything a chance.

The stuff I buy tends to fall into the classic rock/80s/modern rock genres though. I do own a rather large collection of country CDs too. And several Broadway soundtracks.

I'm actually looking for some new stuff to listen to because I'm really bored with my current CD collection. I've been listening to yahoo launchcast for variety.

Do you enjoy Radiohead, or Radiohead-esque, U2-esque bands?

I am of of these:
1. Those who answer, "I listen to pretty much everything" when asked what kind of music they listen to, who honestly do listen to everything because they have an appreciation for musicians and music....of the sorta-kinda branch ( ... )

I definitely do not listen to music all of the time either, and I really do enjoy peace and quiet to reflect and to let my mind wander. I, too, am a vehicle + music + singing person. Can't help it: I just need to sing or play the drums on my steering wheel or... well, I think I've admitted enough.

Let's just say, at times it can be very awkward, and others, it can be totally awesome when the person that pulls up beside me is rockin' out also!

doesn't the top ten count as part of "everything"?

The emphasis was on the "just", meaning people who only ever listen to the Top Ten, and every week they have a new favourite song and a new favourite band. You know - people who only listen to country, or classic rock, or trance, or (I'm sure you get the point).

Now, certainly listening to the Top Ten would be inclusive of everything, if of course you listened to other things.
