An Open Post for My Baby Boy, Charlie

Jul 29, 2008 13:42

So, while Charlie was with me these last few weeks, he decided to dye his hair BLUE. Not *my* favorite color ;D but as I told him, who cares, it's not *my* hair. Even Grandy said "whatever, it's HIS hair."

Well, last night he went back to his father who was less than pleased, but seemed to handle it well.

And then...The Stepmother saw It.

My mom would not have been pleased at all, but after a some serious laying on of guilt, she would have dealt with it--it is temporary after all.

Me? Hey, if The ClanLad wants purple hair, but he gets good grades and doesn't change his behavior? I might laugh at him, but no hissy-fits. *g*

I probably would have looked at her and said.."What color was the bug that crawled up your butt?"

I feel sorry for the kid that her opinion actually matters as it seems that she is a b*tch on wheels.

So what it's hair...it'll grow back. If that is the worse thing he does than she should be thanking her lucky stars.

Sorry you and the kid have to deal with her sweets!

First, allow me to say that you and the Chazmo rock, hard. I had the chance to see his hair and I thought it was groovy. Charlie is an awesome, creative dude. Why stifle that? That's probably what happened to his Step-bitch and she's lashing out at him for it. For Pete's Sake, he was on the MF'ing stage with The Flaming Lips!!!

F her. Maybe Charlie should shave his head and get 666 tattoo'd on it (temp of course) and see how she likes that...

EETA: Glad you and Sam had a good chat! YAY!!!!

At least it wasn't sausage curls and a Big-Ass Hair Bow. That's when you know you've lost all hope.

But I used to teach folks about his age. Typically we had one or two students each year who got the Manic Panic and colored their hair interesting shades.

No one burst into flames.

Also, one of my dear friends has allowed her nearly-the-same age son to color his hair each summer as a reward for working hard in school. This year it is blonde. Next year? Who knows?

Manic Panic is TEH EVIL. For Charlie's sake, I hope he went with some other dye - or else use dark towels/sheets/shirts until it's washed out. Manic Panic ruined many of my towels/sheets/shirts in college.
