Perhaps I should take a course on video production.

I sat with my mom-like (and/but endearing) film professor in her office this afternoon, preparing to watch and critique my very first video assignment, which hastily shot outside of and transferred to VHS inside of Braxton on Sunday. What appeared before our eyes was not a poorly-timed 7-shot film about a bike collision, but raaather 1.5 minutes ( Read more... )

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! If you've seen that one already, I will try to to think of a back-up rec.

What happened to your assignment? Has your film professor seen it, or did "Desire" overpower all of the video?

I haven't seen it already, just heard about certain freeze-frames in it. I am not a very well-read/well-watched(?) film student. Added to queue!

My professor said she'd attempt to transfer it herself. I haven't heard anything yet, so I will assume she is just reveling in Desire.

If you're in a (fo') serious mood, perhaps Talk To Her. I feel like you have probably seen most of my movie picks already so I can do a back-up as well!

haha, yeah, I know that look well too.

That 7-shot assignment was rough. My first try at it was so bad I ended up reshooting it.

Aw, video production. yay.

they're next up in my queue! I'm excited. What was the last movie you saw? Also, are you playing at the black cat soon or something? So many questions.

I can't believe that actually happened to someone, let alone you! Is your bike wreck video lost then? It's nice when life is like a sitcom, I think. On Sunday I was late to my first day of work because my seatbelt wouldn't unbuckle and I was stuck in my car.

The last movie I really liked was The Station Agent. I was excited about watching Fantastic Planet but ended only liking a couple minutes of it. I don't know anything about movies!

Thanks for the recxsz! Too bad about 'Fantastic Planet.' I could only watch about half an hour of 'Watership Down' before getting kind of freaked out. Did you ever read the book?

I think you would like 'Family Game'--it's no planet of tiny humanoids, but it was awesome. Maybe I am partial to coming-of-age, tutor-tutee relationships, and weird non-sequiturs. I suspect it could be way up your alley, though!

Also, you need to make a film about your seatbelt antics and other stories.

I haven't. It's in m'queue now, though! Definitely, definitely see 'El espiritu'--I watched my professor's bootleg copy for a Spanish history class several years ago and now it's totally available not just in bootleg!
