This is a weird post.

I, oddly enough, rather enjoy Windows Vista. I like the new menu layout, the security improvements were welcome, and for the most part I've had all my programs function on it ( Read more... )

ubuntu is actually nice because it is the training wheels version. I picked it because it should have the greatest support for the compiler. And actually, I have it running within the Eclipse developer, but it's very cumbersome for the small program I need to do.

I know how you feel about using compiler's in different OS's.

For my c++ class, we have to compile everything on a linux based server...and all our code from dickens doesn't work lol

I think specifically c/c++ is just the worst compiler ever!

But then again, I've actually become rather complacent with C# and the nice things it gives me.

I havent gotten the chance to work with C#. Only one professor teaches it here at KSU, and the way he teaches C++ is awful. He only spent 1 lecture talking about how to do 's and then his entire classes (C++, Intro Data Structures, Adv. Data Structures) are all template based.

Because of this, Im particular to Java. Only because I know it well enough to get a B

Vista? Fie! A hex upon your home!

I'm actually typing this right now through Lynx, which is a text-based browser (handy!) for Linux. This is due to my failure to properly configure my nVidia driver while setting up Neverwinter Nights, so now I can't get into X. Hah. But I actually love screwing up since I learn so much. Truly, my heart runs on Debian.

Can you not simply use a more formidable compiler? Or are you bound that wretched heap by your school? If so, you have my sympathis. Ganbare, my friend.

It's actually my laptop that I'm trying to install it on, as I need it to be mobile. And the fact that I can't get it to install on either distribution is what is pissing me off. I just want to code and compile the thing, and then turn it in online, which I cannot do all from the same OS at the moment, since my ubuntu wireless is glitchy and my windows compiler wont do anything.

oh, and if you do get NWN working, you should join me and some friends on a server I play on.
