Labwork!  I attempted another protein gel--half went into stain, and the other half was transfered onto a membrane, stained for protein, then once I scanned that in, I could then start preparation for running a western blot (using my antibody that is specific for my protein of interest to probe and therefore ( Read more... )

We went to McDonalds for shamrock shakes:)  I think next time I'll get mine 1/2 shamrock (mint) and 1/2 chocolate.  Yummy!  Although, I just went to the McDonald's website to find a pic of the shamrock shake, and I found the nutritional info instead . . . always a bummer, right?

I found Rascal's tags today--on our lunch time walk. Yay! He is tagged once more. He couldn't figure out why I was so excited :) He started jumping around like a nut because mommy was talking in a high pitched voice (like a nut):)

PS--we're going for ice cream :) --it's 5pm--I'm coming back to work, so I don't feel guilty :)

I had eggs this morning for breakfast.  Ever since I've felt very icky.  I don't know whether it was the smell of them that lingered in the house or just the eggs themselves in my tummy.  Either way, I'm at work, and I still feel egg-icky.  Moral:  No eggs for breakfast--at least not by themselves.

Thanks to President's Day almost no one is at work, but the dedicated souls in our lab. I've been busy today, and I've actually gotten a lot done (it's amazing how much stuff you get done when there aren't 817490237 other people around, and you can just focus on what you need to accomplish). I seem to be a bit better today (thus, my coming in to work).  I still have lovely drainage; and, I feel like if I stopped moving for 5 seconds I could be asleep.  But, I have been productive (compared to sleeping all day yesterday . . . ).  One set of samples is prepared for loading on the gel, and with a bit more size separation,  the 2nd set ( Read more... )
