monicawoe is gathering a bunch of folks who like the idea that Hallucifer wasn't a hallucination - that he's got an open phone line to Sam from the Cage, and what we've been seeing is him actually communicating with Sam. It's just SAM who accepted it as a hallucination. That makes good sense to me, since we've been told all along that angels have a special connection to their vessels; that angels can invade the minds of humans via their dreams (which I equate to a weakened state); and that Sam in his "hallucinations" isn't seeing/recalling the Cage, but rather Lucifer sitting in the physical space Sam actually occupies.
So, what Cas seems to have taken on - if you buy this theory - isn't Sam's memories of Hell. He's grabbed hold of that open phone line and has dumped its terminus into his own head, rather than Sam's. He's set himself up mano a mano against his brother angel.
I actually really like that theory - I just don't see opening an actual line to Lucifer playing out in another arc. Lucifer already got 2 seasons worth of time. I guess the possibilities really depend on a possible s8 pickup.
Certainly interesting to ponder, but at the end of the day what happened to Sam was what Death told us would happen to the letter, and if he thought Lucifer would be able to claw his way back up through Sam's soul, I doubt he'd have agreed to bring him back in the first place.
I loved the Faith parallels! This season is rocking the season 1 references, and it is awesome. And Dean is just being threatened with more loss here left and right, Fist with Sam and then with again with Cas (the trenchcoooooat!). There's no way he can hold himself together much longer, and I'm so happy that Sam might finally be in a place where he can help him. Can't wait for next week!
If that is the case, then Sam SHOULD start to slowly go crazy AGAIN unless Cas somehow managed to take their power away, but the way he said it wasn't something he could make go away, and this would just get Sam back on his feet, makes it seem probable that Sam will eventually relapse.Wow. I really hope Sam doesn't start to go crazy again. I've had my fill, thanks. To me, Cas saying that he couldn't make it go away and that it would get Sam on his feet meant that he was taking himself OFF his feet, and he knew it. If we're talking flood metaphors, I think all the water's been diverted in to Cas's reservoir. Or something. Maybe that means Sam doesn't
( ... )
UGH THE TRENCH COAT MAKES ME UGLY SOB. I can't wait for next week either. I just really want Dean to have a breakdown so someone can hug the crap out of him. I volunteered, but they said something about a restraining order? Lol.
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE it if Sam was All Better. (Because MY BABY OMGGG) I just think I've been watching this show too long to think it was actually that 'easy'. I do think Cas will recover, though. For sure.

Yes, plz. I'm not one to harp on the discrepancies between how much attention Sam's time in Hell has gotten vs. Dean's, partly because their experiences were different, their rescues were different, and therefore their coping would be different.
But goshdarnit, Dean did go to Hell. And at the beginning of the season, he was using his experience to help Sam cope with his. But then he mentioned strapping Sam into the Impala and driving off a pier. And things have only gotten worse. I just want Sam to be fully equipped to catch Dean when (when, right?) he falls, because that ledge he's standing on keeps eroding with every new loss.
Your episode reaction was great to read. I agree with Sam not being perfect again.
I'm really hoping that Sam will remember Hell. Cas did says that it would get him "back on his feet", implying not 100%. The show promised that there would be no quick fix for Sam and that they would play it out showing the trauma that he "earned". Also, how did they get out of the hospital? Nothing was shown. Shouldn't Sam have been dead on his feet?
Not sure about getting out of the hospital. For all we know it was one week later or something, lol. However, it did also seem to me that Cas at least stabilized Sam when he tried to fix him the first time, because he relaxed significantly before pausing to tell Cas that he wasn't real.
Peach mojitos. Well just one. But I'm a severe lightweight. Also I really need to invest in television that does not require me to drink BEFORE I watch it.
DUDE. And THEN we watched The Walking Dead finale (EEP!!) and the last Vampire Diaries episode (AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHOMGG!!!!) and I JUST HAVE TO BE DRUNK ON FRIDAYS ANYMORE, OKAY.
I have not SEEN the hate - but I have not been to tumblr. Heh.
EVERY STOLEN CAR OMGGGGGGG.
*hands Jared his Emmy omnomnom*
Oh, Meg will protect Cas, for sure. Right up until she needs him for whatever. We have to remember, no matter what, that WE CANNOT TRUST HER. She is MEG. *side-eyes-Show*
I've only seen a couple of negative things that weren't too big a deal, but people keep *mentioning* the hate and i just...don't want. At all.
YES. Fucking Emmy's all over the place, damnit.
Oh, i don't trust Meg for a second but i *do* trust her to be looking out for her own self-interests, so....yeah. She'll watch Castiel and she'll use him and in the end she'll get hers. Heh.

That's my thinky-thoughts. Your turn. :)
