So I finally got WoW to work. It took me 4 days :-( I borrowed a copy off a friend but his Guest Pass had been used so i couldn't (I did try). So I went to the WOW Eu site to get a Guest Pass but their security prove-you-are-not-a-'bot system was repeatedly shagged...no matter how many times you put in the correct sequence from the random image ( Read more... )

Might I suggest a Raptor for a pet? They kick HUGE AMOUNTS OF ARSE! I've got one that I've had since the late 20's on my Nelf Hunter, and Fang is a kick butt tank. Ask glasgowprince just how much he rocks. They are slow, but if you go beast mastery in the talent tree for leveling raptors are DPSing ruddy tanks.

Also, check out these two sites for some good info on hunters and pets. Going Beast mastery will help you reduce the aggro you generate and allow the pet to draw the aggro back.

It's worth it to drop your pet in the stables and go train up skills.

I completely forget what's it like to play a low-level hunter, and what skills/talents you get when... but usually to avoid aggro it's best to send the pet in first, let it build a bit of aggro itself (handy if it has the 'growl' skill), then start shooting. If it starts to run towards you, then Concussive Shot to slow it down, or let it close to melee and wing-clip it, then strafe away, or trap it.

Anyway, Argent Dawn... when you're on, do a
/who Branch
to see who of us is on... any of the level 60s you see are probably officers who can invite you to the guild.

And if you remember your character's name in the meantime, register under that name on www.arcorb.com and drop Macha a PM and I'll get you organised.

I did it recently - the best fight method for aaaages seems to be:
Send in pet, poison sting thing, arcane shot thing, relax.

I was doing this and the buggers were turning on me! I have it cracked now...I taught my Pet Growl Level 2. Now she constanly Growls while in Combat which holds aggro off me 80% of the time.

Concussion shot is your friend. ;)

Also, sending in your pet to attack before you do is the way to go, but make sure your pet has Growl (it's a Taunt). Hunter's tend to be crit-tastic, so you *will* pull aggro from your pet, but Growl helps.

As for WoW graphics being better than EQ2..... only if you have EQ2 set at 'Extreme Performance'. At 'High Performance' or better, EQ2 blows WoW away. Fighting Gnolls on the-setting-above-Balanced, you can count their hairs..................
