This past day and half has reminded me that I am actually here taking classes and not just hanging out and having fun. Yesterday I spent about 12 hours sitting in our classroom and doing statistical analysis and making a powerpoint. In case you were wondering... the reason that I haven´t updated my journal for a long time is because I have been up in the mountains enjoying fresh air and beautiful old oak forests. Today we started our first faculty led project where a guest professor leads us in field work related to their field of study. Right now we have two projects. One is about forest restoration and the other (that I worked on today) is about coffee plantations. Yesterday was our rest day which means we got to do whatever we wanted all day. I started my rest day by going to the bar on Saturday night - which was really fun. Wow. I can't believe that I haven't posted at all this week because I have had more consistent internet than I have previously on the trip. We're at Las Cruces Biological Station now which is really, really nice. We have a really nice little lodge to ourselves with a common room where we all sit around doing our homework.
