I haven't seen episode 10 of the Tales of the Abyss anime, but I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed by its pacing and almost complete adherence to the game script. The more mainstream environmentalism becomes, the more ridiculous it gets. It's been a bad week for celebrities I like.

Madeline L'Engle (author of A Wrinkle in Time and the other Time Quartet books) passed away a few days ago.

Today, Alex the talking parrot also passed.

I was having kind of a bad day yesterday, but right before bed I checked the Tales forums and got probably one of the most unexpected surprises I could have gotten (aside from Asch showing up at my door and punching me in the face for abusing him as a PC):
