So last night I ironed everything out and sewed it together. I'm glad I figured out how to get the wrinkles out of the fabric (I ironed it when I first washed the fabric but it just wrinkled as I hung it off the ironing board!) -- my iron doesn't have a steam function so I used a spray bottle to dampen the cloth ( Read more... )

So I'm making myself a regency costume, and I've started making the short stays. I'm cheap so am hoping to do it without having to buy a bunch of patterns. Also, awhile back I bought 6 yards of muslin, so I have a lot of cloth to experiment with. Back in January I made a dress form out of duct tape and that has so far been very useful. So in New York at a Walmart ( a WALMART of all fucking places!) an emplyee opening the doors in the morning was trampled to death by 2000 people. Several other people were injured, including a pregnant woman (who thankfully is ok). Saw the new Twilight movie, was a little disappointed. The acting felt forced and the cinematography was choppy. They clipped down a lot of the conversations and mashed them together, so they seemed forced and awkward. I did like it though, and if you saw the movie, you'd prolly want to read the book.
