Linen, and pants?

I'm either today, or sometime in the next few days, going to be ordering 10 yards of 5.3 oz linen from fabric-store.com. I figure it's a great staple fabric, so it certainly won't go to waste.

Try Reconstructing History. Kass McGann has patterns for Gaelic Irish garments from pretty much every century. Just do a Google search for RH and it will take you to her site.

I've been looking, she's the first site I turned to, but I haven't found anything in men's clothing before the 16th century.

I have downloaded a pdf copy of "Old Irish and Highland Dress" by McClintock that I've seen mentioned on RH and other sites, so now I have a bit more of an idea of materials and colors... but I have no idea how to look at a picture and come up with the pattern.
