Canada's
TV Week Magazine featured Smallville on the cover of their May 7-13, 2011 issue, and inside they talked with Tom Welling and other members of the cast (both past and present) about filming the show in Vancouver over the past ten years.

The writing quote is very interesting. I also had no idea Tom was interesting writing, but I do love how ambitious Tom is and his desire to learn and be involved in all aspects of the business. And it's a plus to to hear Tom say he's an actor first! We don't want to loose that beautiful man behind the camera!
Thanks so much for all the scans and quotes! It's another real treat from Tom to his fans. I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoy this time with Tom really being out there promoting the show. I hope he continues to promote himself and Hellcats after SV comes to and end on Friday. :)

Tom never fails to surprise me, and I think that's a big part of why I find him so captivating. I can't wait to see what he says or does next! :)

I may be wrong but I believe that MR DID toy with the idea that Lex was right. And to see Tom quoting him makes me uncomfortable.

Of course I adore seeing Tom on another mag cover! And I hope he continues this trend of talking to the media.
How can YOU manage to give us so much Tom goodness? You are a treasure! *Hugs*

I so admire the deep respect Tom had for CR, and his generosity in expressing it. It reminds me of the open enthusiasm he showed for the new Superman movie in his recent radio interview. For him it's never been about making comparisons or competing for fans. He embraces everyone.
You know I had to track this magazine down as soon as I heard about it! But I never expected such a wonderful interview.

Tom Welling is such a damned good interview. Its not about agreeing with everything he says. Its just how eloquently he expresses himself, and how he talks about the people he works with. One of the things I always loved about Tom was that he always seemed just as much concerned with the other characters and their arcs as his own. I don't think any other actor on the show ever gave me that impression to that degree.
He's such a class act.

I am especially impressed with how he can be serious and insightful in one moment, and hilariously and adorably entertaining in the next. I really do think he has everything it takes to become a big star.
