I just jumped on and checked my live journal account and was surprised to see how much I have NOT posted lately. I have a Facebook account, and tend to follow most of the people there, but I find I don't really post much there either. I guess I'm more of a lurker... We went into Crate and Barrel tonight and I can't believe how rude the sales clerk was. At first she offended us, then she was rude. Guess we can look elsewhere to spend our money!!!

In my district, teacher appreciation week started with the announcement that there would be severe budget cuts. No new staff would be hired, retiring/resigning teachers would NOT be replaced and there would be at least 9 teachers "furloughed" (not sure how this is different from laid-off). So appparently the end of the world is happening again tomorrow. No snow on the ground, they're not really sure how much we're going to get, just that it's going to be "bad." My grad class instructor is refusing to cancel class tonight, even though the college is shut down. Instead, we're meeting online. He just sent out an email that he is expecting everyone logged in at 5:00 and he's expecting to have a full class.

Over the weekend, the official snow total for us was 23.7 inches. It's been cold enough that the snow hasn't melted, but has "compacted" since it was the light, fluffy stuff. Tonight, we are getting round 2 of snow. It started around 7:00 PM and is the heavy wet stuff. The forecast is for it to continue, getting heavier, with blizzard ( Read more... )

My Mom told me tonight that my 80 year old Dad just joined Facebook. As she put it, "He still doesn't understand it and I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to be friends with your Dad."
