Only about 15 days before the trip to Germany.

Oh, and the sinkhole in my yard is due to improper compaction of the soil when the developer installed the sewer pipes.

It took 10 inches of rain over two days to figure it out. Now with Hurricane Hanna possibly striking Charlotte, I can only imagine how much bigger it will get if they don't fix it

It's weird, I remember the southeast as being very humid this time of year. Since I've lived here I just don't feel it like I used to as a kid. Maybe because I came from a place with zero humidity (Seattle) to a place with high humidity (Atlanta) and since the change was so sudden it stuck with me. The p.vivax that I planted sent up one shoot about 3 weeks ago. It was my pride and joy; about 18 to 20 inches tall as of yesterday morning. When I got home from work I noticed it had 'blown over'. I ran down the slope to look and notice that a squirrel had eaten it. I am devastated. For some reason, the p.vivax just is having a rough go of it ( Read more... )
