I just spoke to my father on the phone. Six hours after major surgery and I heard his voice on the phone.

I could just burst.

Also, the outpouring of love from family, friends, coworkers....hell, some people I barely know....has been absolutely amazing.

It's really a testament to how wonderful he is. Everyone loves him. I'm sure you would,

Dad went into surgery at approximately 11am. Around 3:20pm the surgeon came out to let us know that they successfully removed the tumor from his colon and managed to remove all six from his liver. Dad's having surgery on Friday. They're removing the majority of his colon. While they're in there they may also take some of the liver, depending on if it's operable or not. It could be up to a seven-hour surgery. He'll be in the hospital for six to ten days afterward ( Read more... )
