Oriented...

I went to my orientation last Friday and Saturday (bummer, right?). I can't say I'm that pumped, but at least I know I'm more interesting than 75% of UH law students, give or take. Seriously, I thought lawyers were supposed to be super gregarious and outgoing. Most students were... well, mundane and shy. Maybe it was just the setting of forced " ( Read more... )

you know I bet doctors have an even higher instance of depression/extreme stress and the only reason they're not #1 is that they self-medicate. I saw it on lost, really!

So I am probably going to Houston this weekend, and if so I'd love to see your apartment/attend your party. Should I make/bring anything?

Yay! Bring dessert! You know how I suck at making the delicious after dinner noms. I'm going to make truffles and and possibly Orange olive oil cakes (http://www.piggyscookingjournal.com/2009/08/capezzana-tiny-olive-oil-cakes.html) but I might skip the cake all together since I lack the cute pans. I was also thinking Madeleines, but not everyone likes those (weird, right?). Jung sa ya also doesn't have a sweet tooth - I'm taking this theme too far for real. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't eat a truffle even if I dumped a box of neuhaus all over my living room. Ideas?

Um, cute pans should not even stop you! Also, I read in my cat-cyclopedia that cats lack whatever it is in one's tastebuds that allows for the sense of sweet taste. So maybe Jung sa ya just' physically can't have a sweet tooth. But cats like cream right? So maybe it should be a dessert with cream. I'll think on this.

I also heard that dentists have a high suicide rate and drug addiction problems. All that not-making-it-into-med-school stuff plus access to lots of drugs.

I would imagine poets have an even higher suicide rate. Well, the famous ones.

I can't believe they were so negative. How about "Congrats! You're gonna be rich bitch!" on a welcome banner?

Patrick and I were kind of in disbelief that they detonated that shit bomb of sadness all over us the first day of orientation. We had two good speakers out of dozens. It wasn't the most empowering experience other than those two exceptions, but gotta make the best of it I guess.
