Going by the last 2 - 4 episodes of the series, the situation posed to us in Texhnolyze is the 'death of humanity', as opposed to Nietzsche's and Hardy's "death of God". However, at times, I wonder if certain events in Texhnolyze could have prevented the eventual demise of humanity, or if things were meant to be that way.

Has anyone else noticed that Edward Elric of Fullmetal Alchemist, that his artificial limbs look a WHOLE lot like Texhnolyze? And that the one half of Frank Archer that became mechanized looks a WHOLE lot like the Shapes?

Well, I finally watched & finished Texhnolyze. Right after I finished, I felt a little disappointed with it. I felt like the series had been building up to something much different than was revealed in the ending.
