Son of a Motherless Goat!
Don't know who it was but some fucker just set off the fire alarm for our halls so we all get to be turfed out into the cold and windy night whilst security check every single room. Money money money, Always sunny...
Hhmm. According to the little mini-statements you get from the hole-in-the-wall when you withdraw money it seems that I've had nearly a thousand pounds dropped into my bank account. Ever had one of those nights where you're absolutely run down all evening and planning on going to bed early only to find yourself not tired later on and suddenly it's half three or so in the morning? That Time of the Year
And when the hell did it become so close to Christmas? Seriously. How can it be the 16th of December already? Haven't even bought any presents yet. I swear the years seem to be going by faster and faster with each one. -
Going Retro
I need to get a mangle. Having a judogi that you have to allow to drip dry after washing, and trust me they do need regular washing, is a pain in the arse. Even more so when you don't have an airing cupboard. Sure wringing it out by hand helps a bit but it still leaves it fairly damp. -
How to Tell That You Have a Good Sensei
Well being only a rank or two below the top guy in the country and winning the open competition at the nationals of all the black belt dans is a good pointer. Going out to the pub after training sessions and throwing a pasta party at their place the night before grading and ending up playing Guitar Hero for half the night seals the deal. -
Going Over to the Dark Side?
It's funny but I'm really enjoying the law segment of this years study. Probably not enough to switch to a pure law degree or anything but considering my cynical and fairly mercenary nature quite apt.
Financial accounting however is still completely evil. Sod lawyers, it's the accountants that should be lynched first. -
Flashback to the 60s/70s
Apparently the Univeristy's Guild (Student Union) has a position entitled 'Women's Liberation Officer'. Now whilst it's a serious office and campaigns for some important issues it still makes me smile when I hear it and somewhat harder to take it seriously.
Still, one step up from Womynists I suppose. ;)
