letter from my ex-therapist's practice
Today I was able to pick up a letter from my therapist's old practice, and I was worried it was not going to be able to send to the Peace Corps, because when I asked about it, the boss told me he was very hesitant. oral surgery consultation and paperwork pickup
Today I had my consultation at the oral surgeon's office, where after having a panoramic x-ray of my mouth, came to fully appreciate my need for this procedure. My bottom wisdom teeth are so impacted, they are literally horizontal! The surgery is scheduled for Friday and is supposed to last just over half an hour, but will tragically cost me over ( Read more... ) -
physical and labwork
Today I had my physical and was told I am in perfect health, with perfect hearing, and great vision. I also got a lot of blood samples taken, ang gave a urine sample, and in a couple of days I will get to go in, get my innoculations, and pick everything up. dental checkup
I just returned home from the dental checkup, and what is the damage? FOUR cavities. I haven't even had four cavities in my life! The good news? These were my wisdom teeth, which were growing in horizontally and about to attack the normal teeth, so the dentist told me I was going to need to get these removed anyways. Other than that? it's official... i have been nominated for a teaching placement in the pacific islands. my recruiter informs me that this is actually the toughest region that peace corps serves in (which is due to the isolated nature of the islands). while this sounds like it could be very interesting, and i am sure if this is where i am placed that i will learn ( Read more... ) -

my peace corps recruiter contacted me via email two days ago to inform me that, at this time, there were no openings in peace corps for someone with my skills... perhaps i could improve my resume and try again ( Read more... ) -

my recruiter updated my application status, and now everything is officially in. she told me once everything was in, she planned to nominate me, so i expect to receive something within the next two weeks. this is very exciting!
