the answer is:
AMERICA'S HAPPINESS IS INFECTIOUS. XD
The first bit was my favorite. OH THE FIRST BIT. It was... ohhh, you guys... *starts crying* it is such a beautiful MYSTERY OF BIRTH OF A NATION. Simple, yet so powerful. The greatest, greatest WONDER on this planet. I can feel an almost religious ecstasy over it.
THIS CHAPTER IS SO WONDERFUL. I JUST CAN'T. I CAN'T. AT ALL. ♥
Thank you for making my week! ...Actually, you know what? I'm gonna print bits of this chapter and stick them to various places in my apartment. This way, all my days will hopefully be filled with smiles.

That's actually one of my favorite scenes of all of TCE, actually, even though it's only a few paragraphs long. It's just such a quiet, little moment; but it changes everything. ♥

Awww! I'm so glad that it had such a positive effect on you! =D

It makes me wonder how other nations was born: France, England, Russia (I'm pretty sure he was born in winter)... Do they all just wake up somewhere in their land with realization that they are this land and people, or maybe some of them live for a while among people and then realize that they are Nations?
It's such an interesting topic! I wish writers of the fandom would play with it more often.

I personally imagine that most of them knew what they were straight off, but I'm sure there are exceptions!
I really like imagining where/how the nations were 'born,' actually. I've always imagined bittiest!Vanya stirring awake to a blanket being wrapped around his shoulders, under a light snowfall. And he knew that this was snow, and that the blanket meant that he was safe, and that this girl who was smiling at him and dusting the snowflakes off his hair was his older sister, and that he could trust her. And when he woke up a bit more, she said that people are coming in boats, Vanya. We have to get ready.

Oh god the space race. We all know America's been reaching for the sky from the very beginning, now nice of him to actually thank Russia! God I could gush over this thing forever, these two... eeeee.
Coherent comments will have to come later, but at least they didn't fight in this one!

America being obsessed with the sky/space has been my headcanon for so long, and I'm so happy you included it in this fanfic.
It's really such an intrinsic part of his soul. Just like England and the sea. I'm pretty sure that a little life would drain out of America if he was ever imprisoned in a place with no windows. Taking away his view of the sky is like cutting off his air.
